Biography:

 

John C. McCarthy is president of Continental Air Transport Co., Inc.  He has been with the company for 52 years and became one of the principal owners in 1983 and president in 1987.  Continental provides varies types of passenger transportation services in Chicago.

He is also a founder and current president of the GO Group, LLC, a network of airport ground transportation providers serving over sixty airports throughout the U.S.

Mr. McCarthy is a past president of AGTA.  He is past board chair of Mercy Hospital and Medical Center of Chicago, St. Xavier University, Heartland Human Care Services, The Magnificent Mile Association and the Metropolitan Transportation Association.  He has served on the boards of the Chicago Convention Bureau, Chamber of Commerce and the regional metropolitan planning organization (MPO).

He is a trustee on numerous union health and pension funds. 

He has a B.S. degree from DePaul University and an MBA from Loyola University, Chicago.
